Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER)
The Local Veterans Employment Representatives program conducts outreach to employers and engages in efforts to increase the employment opportunities available to veterans and encourage the hiring of Veterans. The Local Veterans Employment Representatives work with other agencies and providers to facilitate priority services to Veterans. The Local Veterans Employment Representatives staff works hard to advocate for Veterans in order to increase employment opportunities with business’s, industries and community based organizations.
The Local Veterans Employment Representatives program provides funding through state employment agencies to support staff positions to ensure that job development, job placement, and supportive employment services be readily available to qualified veterans. The Local Veterans Employment Representatives program ensures that there are local functioning supervisions of state employment services and job service regulations. These regulations are designed to ensure that Veterans receive the maximum assistance in employment and training opportunities. The Local Veterans Employment Representatives program provides outreach through community agencies and organizations to Veterans.
The Local Veterans Employment Representatives program is an integral part of the Labor Exchange System, Local Veteran Employment Representatives staff works with other service providers to promote Veterans as employees with highly marketable skills and experience. The Local Veteran Employment Representatives team members work as mediators between core and intensive services. They work with service providers, job seekers and employers to assist in Veteran career success.
Local Veterans Employment Representatives are state employees dedicated to providing employment assistance to Veterans. They are responsible for many aspects of Veterans assistance, Including:
- Supervision of all offered services to Veterans furnished by employment service employee’s, including: Counseling, testing and identifying training and employment opportunities.
- Monitoring job listings from Federal contractors to see that eligible Veterans receive priority in referrals to qualifying job positions.
- Monitoring federal department and agency vacancies listed at local state employment service offices and preliminary processing of complaints from Veterans about the observance of Veterans preference by Federal Employees.
- Promoting and monitoring the participation of Veterans in federally funded employment and training programs.
Local Veterans Employment Representatives program is focused on providing veterans with employment and helping them to fill positions with qualified veterans.
